Jim BracherJim Bracher launched Executives-in-Residence at CSUMB in October 2007, and serves as its director, engaging the talents, experiences and inspiration of entrepreneurs and senior executives from business, government, health care and nonprofits. Jim leverages his 30-plus years of experience as an executive leadership consultant through Dimension Five Consultants and the Bracher Center for Integrity in Leadership and as an advocate for individual and organizational integrity. He continues to expand a vital network of friends, colleagues and clients who believe in the program’s mission and are investing time and energy in the assessment and implementation of programs addressing community needs.

James F. (Jim) Bracher, Director of the Executives-in-Residence program, located on the California State University, Monterey Bay campus in Seaside, California, is currently engaged in three areas:

1. Pay It Forward Scholarship and Mentoring Program:

  • Consult with and assist Pay It Forward Program Director and the Scholarship and Mentoring team with respect to ongoing needs, including relationships, structure and financial support
  • Provide a supportive presence for the program.

2. Aging in Place – exploring “life style opportunities” for seniors:

  • Expand existing efforts that have identified what seniors want and need in terms of quality housing, healthcare and support services
  • Provide a forum to address aging issues: safety, isolation, quality nursing, social work/patient advocates, etc. – as the conversations continue with leaders from throughout Monterey County and beyond
  • Refine current Executives-in-Residence senior healthcare conversations regarding needed services, including: demographics, economics, time-frames, key credentialed personnel and housing.

3. Campus and Community Relations:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate groups, programs and individuals to further the objectives of Executives-in-Residence
  • Support the sustainability of the “action-priorities” described above; as well as those that emerge from current and future Executives-in-Residence “listening” investigations.

As it continues to evolve and grow, Executives-in-Residence will also:

  • Support existing organizations that serve youth by providing mentors, offering expertise and building strategic associations to achieve maximum results
  • Serve as a catalyst for initiatives to help address community issues most affecting young people, including literacy and crime
  • Establish a clearing house of talent to address leadership challenges, career planning and operational effectiveness for individuals and organizations.
