Help us make a difference in the lives of 125 million people who grow and process coffee around the globe, as you engage a more sustainable relationship through the enjoyment of this Certified Fair Trade Coffee- a coffee that is not only of the highest quality, but one that supports social, economic and environmental well-being. This relationship is extended to you through your consumption of these exemplary coffees and your support for the people who so caringly grow them.

What is Fair Trade Certified and why should I buy it?

Trans Fair USA is an independent non-profit organization, which monitors and certifies Fair Trade products in the United States. Fair Trade raises incomes and living standards for small coffee farmers overseas while helping to protect the environment. Fair Trade doesn't provide aid or charity, but instead promotes self-reliance and equality for farmers who are disadvantaged under present trading conditions.

Fair trade benefits many. From farmers in producer countries to students in a U.S. school studying the environment, the concept and practice of fair trade connects producers and consumers in new powerful ways.

It is the nexus for; meeting both environmental and economic considerations of indigenous peoples; re-balancing the trading relationship between North and South; building a link between U.S. policy and publics to a larger world community that is knocking at the door.

So learn more about the concept, but then most importantly, do something. You can help make fair trade happen not only at CSUMB, but also in the U.S. who is a huge engine of consumption in this global economy; you will be helping the Earth develop sustainable methods of doing business.
